JOB VACANCY: Internal Auditor
The St. Vincent Building and Loan Association is a building society established in 1941 under the Building Societies Act Cap 450 of the laws of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The Association is owned and managed by Vincentians with its primary purpose being to provide financial services and products for the benefit of its members.
INTERNAL AUDITOR
Main Purpose of the Job
Examine and evaluate the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of the Association’s internal control systems and procedures and recommend corrective actions to improve operations and enhance internal controls.
Key Performance Areas:
- Define audit objectives and prepare audit plans based on achievable targets
- Conduct prioritized reviews of the effectiveness of controls over all processes in audited areas
- Ensure regulatory compliance by monitoring the extent to which the Association adheres to existing laws, regulations, guidelines and general governance practices and norms
Competencies:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of business management principles, risk management procedures and corporate governance
- Strong analytical skills
- High level of technical auditing skills
- Objective, logical and inquiring mind
- Persistent and good negotiator
Minimum Educational Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Accounting
- Three years’ Internal/External Audit experience
- Possession of a professional Accounting Designation (e.g. ACCA, CPA, etc.)
- Certification in Internal Auditing would be an asset
